Cycling around Broomfield cottage
The cycle routes are endless however the main ones that pass through our area are the West Yorkshire Cycle Route, Pennine Cycleway (Sustrans NCN 68) the Trans Pennine Trail and now the Kirkburton Link route (NCN 627).
There are maps/info for West Yorkshire Cycle Route and Pennine Cycleway please help yourselves. There is also a Kirklees Boundary Cycle Route which in our area pretty much follows the WYCR.
The main Pennine Bridleway (a National Trail) lies N-W further to the west around Glossop, the Dark Peak spur will eventually come down from Denshaw area to Marsden/Holmbridge to meet the Trans Pennine Trail at Dunford Bridge.Local cycling clubs will likely welcome guests on their local rides; CTC , Holme Valley Wheelers, Huddersfield Star Wheelers
Why not come and try the gruelling Holme Moss route yourself before the Tour De France passes along it in 2014.If you would sooner become a spectator then the cottage is in a great location to follow the route when it visits Yorkshire. Book early to avoid disappointment
For your peace of mind there is a secure lockable building for your bike right next to the cottage.
